Synopsis: Diesel fire pump engine failure leaves Space Station without fire protection and facing lengthy fire-watch due to extended lead times on replacement/repair equipment.
Details: Kennedy Space Center experienced diesel pump failure due to engine fire and with the help of their knowledgeable NASA Engineering Team reached out to RentFirePumps.com and were able to secure pump rental to meet their protection needs to provide immediate solution.
Solution: A mobile diesel temporary fire pump was mobilized and installed within 24 hours of approval and help from the building engineering team to run the proper electric run to the trailer. A full capacity flow test was performed to confirm that the unit was capable of meeting the fire sprinkler system demand.
