Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay

Project Name: Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay

Location: 2900 Bayport Dr, Tampa, FL 33607

Project Type: Hotel

The Challenge: 1500 GPM Reliability

The Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay, a premier luxury resort and office complex, faced a critical life safety deficiency when its primary diesel fire pump began overheating. Diagnostic testing revealed failing fuel injectors, rendering the pump unreliable for high-pressure water delivery. To maintain occupancy and bypass a costly 24/7 manual Fire Watch, RFP.com deployed a state-of-the-art temporary mobile fire pump system to restore full fire suppression capabilities.

The Solution: RFP.com Temporary Deployment

RFP.com deployed a high-performance mobile unit specifically configured to replicate the Grand Hyatt’s existing fire protection architecture. By integrating directly into the facility’s fire main via isolation bypass piping, our team successfully transitioned the building to the temporary system within a 24–48 hour window. This rapid deployment ensured the Hyatt remained in total compliance with life safety codes, effectively eliminating the need for a costly, labor-intensive manual fire watch during the primary pump’s repair.
