Synopsis: High voltage electrical fire leaves the building and its fire pump without power.

Details: While digging a trench, workers unknowingly strike the main high voltage power supply feeding warehouse building.  Compromising the high voltage cable’s protective insulation resulted in an electrical fire at the building’s primary electrical panel that destroyed the room and other high and low voltage equipment.

With reconstruction efforts expected to take months, and power to the building having to remain off throughout the duration, there was little hope for Interplex to safely occupy the building and resume operations without the 1500gpm electric fire pump supplying the Early Suppression Fast Response “ESFR” type fire sprinkler system protecting its valuable inventory of assets stored at a height greater than twelve feet.
