Amgraph Packaging Inc

Project Name: Amgraph Packaging Inc.

Location: 190 Inland Road, Lisbon, CT 06351

Project Type: Industrial

Synopsis: During the annual inspection, the fire pump was found to be operating below the required flow rate. Because combustible materials are processed and manufactured within the building, it is critical that the fire suppression system function as designed to ensure life safety. Rent Fire Pumps was contacted and temporary fire pumps deployed to meet all applicable life safety standards.

Details: As Amgraph is a leading provider of packaging and custom packaging solutions, the facility supports multiple production lines and provides numerous employment opportunities. Due to the nature of operations and the presence of combustible materials used in manufacturing and packaging processes, maintaining a fully operational fire protection system is critical to ensuring employee safety and business continuity. Upon identification of the fire pump not meeting the required flow rate, immediate action was taken to mitigate any potential life safety risk. A swift response was necessary to ensure that all personnel could continue working in a safe environment while production activities remained ongoing. Temporary fire protection measures were implemented to maintain compliance with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements, applicable fire codes, and life safety standards. Rent Fire Pumps was promptly contacted and mobilized to provide temporary fire pump support. The deployed equipment restored the required fire flow capacity, ensuring that the fire suppression system met operational demands until permanent corrective actions could be completed. This proactive approach minimized operational disruption while maintaining full compliance with life safety regulations and safeguarding employees, property, and production operations.

Solution: With safety as the number one priority, Rent Fire Pumps was contacted and contracted to deploy a 1,500 GPM fire pump to meet the system demand. Through effective coordination between the Rent Fire Pumps team and Amgraph leadership, a straightforward and problem-free solution was implemented. Upon arrival, Rent Fire Pumps personnel installed and connected the temporary fire pump, verified system integration, and confirmed that all monitoring and alarm signals were properly reporting. A churn test was then performed in the presence of the local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) to validate proper operation and compliance. With cold weather conditions rapidly approaching, timely completion of all critical work was especially important. The successful execution of these measures ensured uninterrupted fire protection coverage and maintained a safe working environment for all employees.
